Major Announcement: Veteran Law Enforcement Expert and Former Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek Joins the Foundation for Minnesota’s Future

Minneapolis, MN – – Today the Foundation for Minnesota’s Future announced adding Former Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek to their Board of Directors. Rich Stanek brings over three decades of law enforcement experience.

“I can’t sit back anymore and watch the State that I love and have sworn to protect deteriorate into lawlessness. Crime rates are soaring in the State of Minnesota because we have elected leaders who are more focused on the radical agenda of the few rather than protecting the public. Just two weeks a major figure in Governor Walz’s party called the burning of the 3rd Precinct Headquarters a Righteous moment.

“Crime rates are skyrocketing across the board. From 2019 to 2020 the murder rate alone rose 58% to an all-time high – 2021 is on pace to be even worse – this is simply unacceptable and we have to do better. This Governor and his allies across the state should be held accountable and I intend to tell the public the truth about the decisions coming from our elected leaders.”

Foundation for Minnesota’s Future Chairman Kevin Poindexter added, “Sheriff Stanek offers a unique perspective on public policy with the background and credentials to back it up.  In addition to serving as a Minneapolis police officer, Stanek worked as the Commissioner of Public Safety and later Sheriff for Hennepin County. Stanek will advise the Foundation on all public policy matters and lead the organization in law enforcement outreach.”
